We can imagine that the numerous functions scare a beginner somewhat. There are also lesser known functions, such as creating various partitions in one movement where you determine the size and file system yourself. Other classic operations include moving, scaling, deleting, formatting and splitting partitions. For example, you can backup partition tables, or clone disks and partitions, and also restore them. From dynamic context menus you get access to all management options and there are quite a few. You also get a lot of detailed information such as the S.M.A.R.T status of your disks, the cluster size and number of sectors of your partitions and so on. When you boot DiskGenius, you will get a list of all disks and their partitions. On the website you will find a detailed comparison, but the main limitation of the free variant is mainly in the data recovery: that allows you to recover only small files. The free version has some limitations, of course. Some limitations (especially towards data recovery)ĭiskGenius is of Chinese origin and there are three editions, two of which are paid versions (from around 84 euros). That is quite ambitious and with this the program mainly targets the more advanced user. DiskGenius unites both functions in one interface. There are tools for managing partitions and there are for recovering lost data.
